Stanley Gann Fire Training Facility DedicationOn October 24, 2012, the Prattville Fire Department held a dedication ceremony to name the Stanley Gann Training Center and the Stanley Gann Fire Tower. The ceremony started at 4 O'clock in the afternoon with mild temperatures and beautiful skies. There was approximately 70 people in attendance, including several retired firefighters and previous employees. Reverend Algie Morgan opened with prayer. Chief Brown opened the ceremony and introduced Mayor Gillespie, who talked about leadership and Chief Gann's legacy. Councilman Fank read a resolution from the Mayor and Council. Chief Brown presented Chief Gann with a plaque of recognition. Chief Gann gave a speech. Also in attendance was Councilman Striplin, Councilwoman Brown, Council-elect Starnes, Council-elect Chambliss, Sheriff Johnson, Commissioner Sid Thompson, Jim Byard ADECA and Allen Rice Director of the Alabama Fire College.
