These photos show our World War II veterans at the Montgomery Airport, on the chartered flight, and in Washington, D.C. at the different memorials and the changing of the guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns. On the flight, Committee representatives conducted a mail call and passed out letters to our veterans from local children. Anyone who has ever been in the military understands the significance of mail call. It was kept secret and therefore, a wonderful surprise for the vets on this trip.
We have these photos for you to view because Councilman Tom Miller was so generous as to share them. Councilman Miller was a guardian on this trip. May 17, 2008
