The City of Prattville wants to thank the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce, specifically Brenda Ward, for their assistance in making the ribbon cutting a perfect event last night! We also want to thank Jeremy Abbott for being willing to take the camera from Teresa Lee last night so she could be involved and enjoy the moment! Thank you to our Prattville City Council for supporting and approving this project and also Representative Paul Beckman and everyone else who came out to be with us.
We want to thank Phil Davis, who is the Land Division Chief at the Alabama Department of Environmental Management, a resident of Prattville, and most importantly a partner of Prattville. Phil, along with ADEM Materials Management Chief Gavin Adams and ADEM Director Lance LeFleur, played a key role in providing an opportunity for us to secure the demo project funding for the recycled rubber surfacing on the splash pad. We could not have finished this project without their grant dollars and the surfacing looks great! Phil being here tonight gave us a prime opportunity to express our thanks to him, Gavin Adams, and ADEM.
We also want to thank former Councilmember and long-time Autauga County Fair Director Gene Hall for the generous $10,000 donation the Fair Association made to the project, which allowed us to put in landscaping and fencing.
There is a moment in these photos when the children squealed in delight that we'll never forget! It's also the moment when many of the adults who worked so hard, worked tirelessly together (along with our friends and family in the River Region, the state and the nation) got tears in their eyes. Prattville, this is what we did together! Thank you!
